Product Description
Protect your Tow Defender from rear diesel exhaust!
Historically, Roadmaster has discouraged customers from using the Tow Defender rock shield on RVs with a rear diesel exhaust. Under load, exhaust temperatures can approach 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. If the exhaust tip blows on the Tow Defender's fabric, it will melt. The Heat Shield absorbs this extreme heat so the Tow Defender can be safely used on rear diesel exhausts.
The heat shield installs in just a couple of minutes. The included fabric anchors (these are the round, black circles shown in the pictures above) engage all layers of the heat shield and Tow Defender fabric. Simply place the heat shield in the desired location and push the two halves of the anchors together for a quick, secure connection.
The product’s aluminum laminated fiberglass construction protects against temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The Heat Shield is 35 mils thick and abrasion-resistant. The material resists most solvents, acids and alkali.

The 4725 Heat Shield is not necessary on RVs with gas engines as they don't generate the same exhaust heat as diesels. Although this product was specifically designed to protect the Tow Defender, it can be used in a wide variety of applications where you need to protect something from heat of up to 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
The Heat Shield is designed to protect from hot gases blowing onto the Tow Defender, it is not intended to come in direct contact with the exhaust pipe itself. Doing so may cause non-warranty damage to the Heat Shield or Tow Defender.
Extra 4725-10 Fabric Anchors are now avaliable!
