Product Description
Brakemaster is a truly proportional braking system.
The BrakeMaster braking system connects directly to the motorhome’s air or hydraulic braking system for rock-solid, reliable braking — brake line pressure in the motorhome controls the brakes in the towed vehicle. Because it connects directly to what powers your motorhome’s brakes, BrakeMaster is a truly proportional, truly synchronized braking system — however you brake the motorhome, BrakeMaster automatically applies the same pressure.
BrakeMaster connects and disconnects from the towed vehicle in under a minute without tools, adjustments or settings. Weighs just 3.75 lbs and measures 17 inches in length — stores almost anywhere.
The BrakeMaster supplemental braking system:
- Has a robust, pneumatic design
- Works with virtually any motorhome
- Works with virtually any towed vehicle with power brakes
- Easily disconnects from the brake pedal — from towed car to road car in seconds
- 9160 & 9060 include the BrakeAway emergency braking system
- Meets U.S. and Canadian braking requirements
- Will work in vehicles with 'active' (or 'continuous power assist') brakes when used in conjunction with a Brake Pressure Reducer
There’s a BrakeMaster for all types of motorhome brakes.
The 9160 is a BrakeMaster with BrakeAway for motorhomes with air or air over hydraulic brakes. This is our most popular Brakemaster braking system and is ideal for customer's with air brakes.
The 9100 is a BrakeMaster for motorhomes with air or air over hydraulic brakes. This kit is the same as the 9160 except it does NOT include the BrakeAway system.
The 9060 is a BrakeMaster with BrakeAway for motorhomes with hydraulic brakes. It includes its own air compressor to provide the pneumatic force for applying the towed car's brakes. The 9060 also includes a proportioning valve that measures the RV's hydraulic brake pressure and meters out a proportionate amount of air pressure for the supplemental brakes.

'About a week after installing a BrakeMaster, I had a need to stop very quickly — a panic stop. I stopped 10 feet from the car ahead. Without the BrakeMaster, I wouldn't have made it.'
