Product Description
If your Jeep has both multiplex wiring AND LED bulbs, then use this kit to connect it to your motorhome's turn signals, running lights and brake signals. It can also be used to wire any towed vehicle where you would normally use traditional diodes.
The 152789 is specifically designed for Jeeps with LED bulbs and multiplex wiring. Due to the Jeep's electronics, it must be wired differently than most other vehicles. To verify your application, visit Fitmaster and enter your vehicle's information.
This kit illuminates the factory taillights for a clean, professional look and lights up your dinghy's taillights in unison with your RV's.
Two Smart Diodes are used to connect the RVs lights to the Jeep. The diodes prevent any feedback to either vehicle, thereby protecting their computer boards.
This kit includes a 4-wire flat harness that conducts the circuits from the front of the dinghy to its rear taillights, 2 Smart Diodes, terminal connectors, split loom and hardware.
• Smart Diodes protect both vehicles' electronics
• heavy-duty 85 amp rated diodes
• Four wire flat harness is 27' long with 16 gauge wires
The 152789 is packaged in a plain brown box. Use a power cord, sold separately, to conduct the circuits between the RV and dinghy.

What is multiplex wiring?
Regular diodes have been used for decades to prevent the backflow of current to the electrical systems of the towed vehicle and motorhome. Some newer vehicles now use a multiplex wiring system, whereby multiple electrical signals may be sent down a single wire (brake and taillights, for example). This is called multiplexing. Because the voltage varies by signal, this is also known as variable voltage wiring.
If you install a traditional diode on a vehicle with multiplex wiring, then whenever a taillight signal is sent from the RV, it will always display as a brake light on the towed vehicle. A vehicle with multiplex (aka variable voltage) requires a low voltage signal for the taillights. But the RV can only supply 12 volts. Smart Diodes correctly modulate the voltage to activate the intended circuit. The result is vehicle lighting that looks and functions as intended.
Because of their clever design, you only need two Smart Diodes per vehicle. This makes installing Smart Diodes faster and easier since you don't have to install or find space for 4 diodes.
